Mindanao Earthquake

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded offshore of Surigao del Sur in the Philippines last weekend.

200,000 individuals (31,000 families) were affected with 108,000 individuals evacuated.

Currently people are being temporarily housed away from coastal areas due to concerns about aftershocks causing a tsunami.

Our Philipine partner Balay Mindanaw has carried out an initial assessment and is commencing to deliver aid.

Disaster Aid Australia will be supporting Balay Mindanaw in their work to help these affected people.
