With World Water Day being on 22nd March we are sharing a video of a Safe Water for Every Child project Disaster Aid Australia have been involved with, in the Philippines.
This has been a joint project with many partners both in the Philippines, and Australia.
Disaster Aid Australia and our local partner, Balay Mindanaw assisted the sponsors; The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro West, and Clubs of Rotary District 9820; to obtain a Rotary Foundation Grant for the project.
In this video you will be able to hear the leaders of the six barangays say what safe drinking water means to their communities.
With 80% of all illnesses in developing countries being due to contaminated water these projects save lives, and all at a cost of $1 per person per year.
We already have more projects in the Philippines planned, as well as helping Ukrainian Refugees with safe water through our Smart Aid program.
