In March 2020 we were only just finding out about COVID-19.
Over the past year Disaster Aid Australia has had to change how it operates . . . . but it hasn’t stopped us delivering on our two programs.
We have been able to continue to deliver our typical SmartAid of ‘Shelter’ and ‘Safe drinking Water’ with our Philippine partner Balay Mindanaw and Disaster Aid Europe in response to:
- 3 Typhoons in November 2020 that hit Luzon ;
- Beirut Explosion;
- Armed Insurrection in MIndanao.
- Flood damaged homes in Indonesia
We have also worked with partners on COVID related aid including:
- Food Programs in Cambodia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal and Guatemala;
- Hospital Equipment in two Bangladesh Hospitals
- PPE in Sabah, Malaysia
- Isolation facility support in Mindanao.
Safe Water for Every Child
Although our Bhutan 2020 project has been delayed we are still expecting completion of this major project to supply safe water to 120 schools by mid 2021.
Our installations in the Philippines have continued to grow with 76 SkyHydrants now installed in communities.
We have continued to support Karen villages in Myanmar.
For the first time we have been involved in Vietnam supporting the Australian Water Association install 10 SkyHydrants.
