D9820 Ride to Conference

The annual Ride to Conference covered 600km which was completed in six days with Rotarians, partners and Rotary Exchange Students enjoying a great week of seeing the country-side of Victoria and experiencing great hospitality from the towns on-route.
The Ride consisted of fifty riders including twelve Exchange Students and twelve support crew.
The purpose of the Ride was to raise Rotary awareness and funds and over the past ten years D9820 Ride to Conference has raised in excess of $600,000. This year’s Ride benefitted Australian Rotary Health and Disaster Aid Australia.
Rotarian John Shandley from Korumburra joined the Ride some ten years ago and he is pictured with his wife Janette with the Disaster Aid Australia tandem. Janette has been riding with John for the past five years and this year they clocked up as many as 118km on the first day.
The trailer and tandem are available for any Disaster Aid Australia fundraising events and promotion. Please contact Hans Van Dyk on 0428 123 124.
We sincerely thank John, Janette and all concerned for their support – you are truly making a difference to those in need following a disaster.
